We sat down with the inaugural AEW Women's World Tag Team Champion's - Harley Cameron & TBS Champion Willow Nightingale, ahead of their clash with MegaBad (Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne) in Sydney, Australia for AEW Grand Slam inside Qudos Bank Arena over the Women's Tag Team Championships!

Exclusive Interview: AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions - Babes Of Wrath

We've got some pretty interesting slang & mannerism, Harley - have you kept Willow up to date with all our Aussie Slang?

"Yeah, I think so. I mean, she did just find out what a bottle-o was. So, you know, if I were to say to you, do you understand this?" - Harley Cameron

"Tomoz, I'll take you to the bottle-o and get you a pack of ciggies and a six pack and we'll do a shoey with a Sheila. What do you say?" - Harley Cameron to Willow Nightingale

"I say, let's do it. Let's, let's retain our championship first. Let's give them a fight. And now, let's do it. You can't do that before wrestling though" - Willow Nightingale

Do you both have something in store for MegaBad (Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne) to put them away that's an Australian themed move?

"Anyone in Australia that is aware of our culture knows about the great drop bear. If you have not seen that Willow and I do a back double senton, I don't know, is it coming to me right now? Yes. That maybe we should deem that move the drop bear!?" - Harley Cameron

"I actually don't know what that means" - Willow Nightingale to Harley Cameron

"So in Australia, when you go out in the bushes and you go hiking and stuff, you have to be careful because there's bears that drop from the trees. I'm a koala on your back and you drop me onto the, it's the drop bear!" - Harley Cameron

You both had similar appearances coming through from AEW Dark in 2022 and 2021 - Now you're here in Australia, Qudos Bank Arena in front of thousands of fans defending those women's championships. How has that journey been and have you reflected back on that?

"I think as we were touching on earlier that she was my first ever match at Dark in AEW. And we both, you know, started off from these opportunities in the, you know, the Dark days and to be now together as a team and inaugural champions, I think it's a really great example of perseverance" - Harley Cameron

"A good example of like when you're given an opportunity and you have, you know, your head screwed on and you are ready and you work hard, like anything is possible. And I hope that we can be the trailblazers for that" - Harley Cameron

"Before I even had the opportunity of doing like all those AW Darks, I was on the Indies for like maybe six years. So it does feel like a long journey. But at the same time, it feels unbelievably fast the way that my ascent through the company happened" - Willow Nightingale

"There are women who come to our company who kind of have like a reputation that precedes them. Their like first match is is a huge deal already. And I feel like every step of the way we've had to like prove ourselves and, you know, show our worth. If people weren't looking, we would have to like pull their faces towards us and be like, no, you can't look away like this is what we're here. This is what we want." - Willow Nightingale

"I've just been very intentional about the work that I've done and the opportunities that have been given to us and just trying to make the best of it and getting to do things like this where Harley can come home after, you know, spending all this time away from her family and show them like all her hard work, what it's worth for me coming to a new place and being able to throw myself into the culture." - Willow Nightingale

"We have a big title match where there's a lot on the line, like the pressure is felt, but it's like, wake up and smell the roses. This is this is a good life and we're fortunate, but we worked hard to be here and I wouldn't have changed our journey personally." - Willow Nightingale

Willow, how has it felt to make history twice -becoming the first AEW Woman to be a double champ & as well as the inaugural AEW Womens World Champions alongside Harley?

"Always cool. But I think there, I just want to, if somebody is going to put this label on me, I want to be able to not just enjoy being a double champion, right? Like it's a big deal, but I want to live up to what I think that means. I want to be a fighting champion, somebody who is there anytime somebody wants a shot, like, listen, bring it on" - Willow Nightingale

"I want to be able to represent both sides of that. Yes, I have this super awesome tag partner. I want to be able to like show out for the both of us. But listen, I'm Willow Nightingale. I'll take you myself still. Don't you forget it. So I, it's tiring, but I'm up for the challenge. And I'm hoping to not let either championship down is my personal goal." - Willow Nightingale

If there was an opportunity for Harley to compete for the TBS Championship, would you be okay Harley to compete for the title?

"Of course, I would root for her. I would want for her to give it her all. And I want her to win. And I want to want us to put on the best possible match that we could and whoever the best woman is on that very day, would walk out the victor." - Willow Nightingale

"I think you should be willing to take on any challenger, if somebody is a threat to you and you feel that - you should still be welcoming and inviting of it because that is the true test. you shouldn't shy away from that." - Willow Nightingale

Harley, How's it felt to also lead the charge with women's Australian wrestling on a global scale?

"It's a really exciting thing for the Aussies, you've got to look at like everyone you just named (speaking about Lena Kross, Cassie Lee & Jessica Troy), for example, myself included!
Just to look at the fact that, you know, there's, the wrestling world in Australia isn't as big here as it is overseas and it's a close knit community.
It's amazing to see a lot of the percentage of the women that's in Australia that seek this dream out are doing great things and achieving amazing things." - Harley Cameron

"it's crazy to think that like, as you said a few years ago we were at World Series Wrestling, which is a great promotion itself. Obviously, it's on a scale relevant to what Australian productions put on - and then to think like none of us knew back then that we would be in the positions that we have been in now." - Harley Cameron

"I think it's a beautiful example of Australia, I know where this country is being an Island and it's so impossible sometimes to think about chasing that dream, especially when it's overseas. But I hope that us women can be examples - if you do do that and you do persevere, anything's possible and I hope that we're making Australia proud." - Harley Cameron

"Can I just shout out Madison Eagles real quickly, maybe a little bit ahead of her time, but I was familiar with Madison Eagles from Shimmer in the United States, Shimmer Athletics, and she's from here, and she's just the best." - Willow Nightingale

This past year you have taken the world by storm Harley, with one aspect of that being Mini Mone (Puppet) - could we see Babes Of Wrath Puppets down the line?

"I mean, I would love that! Merch? Merch Team!?" - Harley Cameron

"I feel like I'm very honoured that I feel like I lit a fire in the world of ventriloquism again, because I never in a million years thought ventriloquism would go into the world of wrestling, but that makes what, that's what makes wrestling so exciting" - Harley Cameron

"Tony Khan is amazing for allowing me to bring those external things into our world, the sky is the limit. You never know what what's going to be next" - Harley Cameron

"Mini Mone was obviously, you know, a groundbreaking part of our locker room. And she is doing great. Thank you for asking - She's on the truck" - Harley Cameron

"Her Blood and Guts moment was epic. Again, how beautiful Blood and Guts, one minute you're bleeding, diving up a cage, next minute Mini Mone is brass knuckling you" - Willow Nightingale to Harley Cameron
