In one of the most unexpected moments of WrestleMania 41, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry made his WWE debut by answering Randy Orton's open challenge on Night 2 of the event. The match, though brief— lasting just over three minutes the WWE Universe believed in Joe Hendry
Originally, Orton was slated to face Kevin Owens, who had to withdraw due to a recent neck injury which was announced during an episode of Smackdown.
After weeks of speculation of who would replace KO - from Nick Aldis, Aliester Black & Rusev - Joe Hendry stepped in as the surprise replacement, He later described the effort to keep his appearance under wraps as a "military operation," involving covert travel and minimal communication to prevent leaks from the media.
Despite the short duration of the match, the surprise alone alongside a massive ovation and crowd reaction was Wrestlemania worthy.
The match itself was a great showcase of Hendry's ring work and melded well with Ortons more methodical style of wrestling - with one of the best RKOs from recent memory with Hendry's iconic turn & face zoom.
