The WWE 2K26 Showcase mode puts the spotlight on the legendary career of CM Punk, highlighting a handpicked lineup of his most memorable matches, dream matches and "what if" matches all narrated by “The Best in the World” himself.
Blending authentic recreations with imaginative storytelling, CM Punk’s WWE 2K26 Showcase combines historic WWE moments with fantasy showdowns and alternate timeline scenarios. The result is a dynamic mix of real events and bold “what if” possibilities that let players experience Punk’s career in new ways with the inclusion of WWE 2K26's "Slingshot" technology.
Following the format introduced in WWE 2K25, WWE 2K26 will once again featured a “What If?” section. This mode explores hypothetical matchups that might have unfolded had CM Punk never departed WWE in 2014, reshaping history with fresh rivalries and outcomes.
The Showcase also includes a “Fantasy Warfare” section, delivering dream matches Punk never had the chance to compete in during his WWE tenure. Players can step into the ring against icons such as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Eddie Guerrero, Cactus Jack and more in once-impossible generational clashes.
As tradition dictates with every 2K Showcase Mode, progressing through the CM Punk Showcase and completing in-match objectives will unlock a range of bonus content, including new playable characters & variants, alternate attires, classic arenas, and more.
The matches in WWE 2K26’s Showcase have been split into three distinct categories throughout your playthrough:
Historical Matches: Faithful recreations of Punk's WWE bouts
Fantasy Warfare: Dream matches where time is just a construct and all era's aren't safe from the Best in The World
“What If” Matches: Alternate reality scenarios that rewrite Punk's WWE history from rectifying devastating career loses to "what if" CM Punk never departed WWE in 2014

CM Punk vs JBL - World Heavyweight Championship, Summerslam 2008
After CM Punk won his first World Title in WWE, The self proclaimed "Wrestling God" pushed Punk to his straight edge limits in his first defence of Punk's World Heavyweight Championship.
CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio - Armageddon 2008
In one of the rare occurrences where Rey & Punk were on good terms with each other, they clash over becoming the Number 1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship in the final of the titles tournament at Armageddon in 2008
CM Punk vs Randy Orton - WrestleMania 27
After poking the viper, the viper struck with his punt and caused Punk to vacate his World Heavyweight Championship, leading to their clash at WrestleMania 27 clash where Orton took the win - but Punk wants that win back.
CM Punk vs The Undertaker - WrestleMania 29
Many thought CM Punk would be the one to put the streak to sleep at WrestleMania 29 after hitting The Deadman where it hurts the most - by interrupting the tribute of the then recent passing of Paul Bearer and stealing the iconic Urn - Punk wants to be the one in 20-1.
CM Punk vs John Cena - Raw 2nd February 2013
In a butterfly effect moment - the only reason why Punk took on The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 was due to a chain of events prior, losing the WWE Championship to The Rock at Elimination Chamber then 8 days after he was slotted against his wrestling soulmate - John Cena, turning once in a lifetime into twice. Punk wants to get his WrestleMania main event and to redeem that hurricanrana.
CM Punk vs The Rock - WWE Championship, Elimination Chamber 2013
Punk believes The Rock stole his WWE Championship due to some backstage scheming at the Royal Rumble, but at Elimination Chamber CM Punk became an uncrowned champion due to some fragile referees which led him title-less - so it was time The Best In The World became The Rock's Final Boss.
CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman - Summerslam 2013
After Punk's loss to The Undertaker, he took a break to heal but Heyman took it as betrayal causing Punk to have a Beast of a problem leading into Summerslam where Brock would slay The Best In The World - but this time Punk wants to become the beast-slayer
CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre - Hell In A Cell, Bad Blood 2024
In another butterfly effect, Punk's WrestleMania 40 hopes crumbled as he tore his tricep thanks to a future shock DDT by Drew McIntyre at the 2024 Royal Rumble - but Punk was still there to cause Drew's 5 minute World Title reign and screw him over with multiple World Title attempts throughout 2024. Leading to their level victories over each other which could only be settled in Hell In A Cell at Bad Blood 2024.
CM Punk vs Seth Rollins - Raw 6th January 2025
CM Punk's return to WWE caused shockwaves throughout the Sports & Pro Wrestling landscape - but not everyone was too happy about his return, one of those people being "The Visionary" Seth Rollins. Punk wants to finally pull the thorn from his side which has been a "Freakin" pain on the debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix.
CM Punk vs Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns - WrestleMania 41
Ripple effects from the 2025 Royal Rumble where CM Punk eliminated both Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns causing Seth to lose his cool led to the main event of WrestleMania 41 Night 1, where Punk used his earned favour from Paul Heyman to be by his side for the showcase of the immortals - leaving the OTC without his wiseman for the first time in 5 years. In the end, no visionary could predict Heyman's double turn siding with Seth. It took Punk his whole career to main event a WrestleMania, so he wants that win back!
Brett Hart (CM Hart) vs Shawn Michaels - WWE Championship, Survivor Series 1997
CM Punk wants to put slingshot tech to good use and rectify the infamous "Montreal Screw Job" at Survivor Series 1997, Punk considers himself a Brett Hart fan with "The Hitman" being one of the greatest of all time - leading to creating CM Hart!
CM Punk vs Cactus Jack
Punk debuted in WWE's ECW in 2006 but there was one hardcore legend he never had the chance to get extreme with - that's the man with multiple personalities but Punk just wants one, Mick Foley's Cactus Jack to show him how extreme ECW really is!

CM Punk vs "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
When you think of a dream match or dream opponent for CM Punk, the first name that should be raised is "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
Even though there are some glaring differences there's some massive similarities, from the mic to the ring - The Best In The World face to face with The Rattlesnake would be nothing less than absolute attitude.
CM Punk vs Eddie Guerrero
Punk may have felt the fire of Latino Heat outside of WWE, but the two never had the chance to lie, cheat and steal the hearts of the WWE Universe but with slingshot technology nothings impossible - To this day Eddie Guerrero is forever missed, Viva La Raza.
CM Punk vs Triple H
In a world where the "Yes Movement" turned into the "Best Movement" CM Punk get his hands on the COO, Triple H at WrestleMania 30 - where the winner is added to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Main Event with Randy Orton & Batista.
CM Punk vs Randy Orton vs Batista
After teaching the King Of Kings a lesson in the theoretical match at WrestleMania 30, it locked him in a match against the Royal Rumble Winner, Batista & WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton to make it a triple threat.
CM Punk vs John Cena
What if there was a world in which CM Punk would answer the renowned "United States Open Challenge" created by the Never Seen 17 - John Cena. The challenge made waves by introducing the world to the likes of Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens, but what would've happened if the "Voice Of The Voiceless" gave Cena the shock of a lifetime and returned to capture the United States Championship.
CM Punk vs AJ Styles
Prior to this showcase, we didn't know if we'd ever get The Phenomenal One vs The Best In The World (fortunately we did on AJ Styles final Raw before retiring at the 2026 Royal Rumble), prior to that CM Punk wanted first dibs at the newly debuted AJ Styles in 2016 at WrestleMania 32!
CM Punk vs Kurt Angle
If Punk was around in 2019, you bet he'd be at the front of the line to be Kurt Angles final match - with Kurt being Punks goal when joining WWE's ECW, that dream was cut short with Kurt leaving about a month after his arrival. Kurt wouldn't be choosing his final opponent this time, Punk would be choosing Kurt as his opponent at WrestleMania 35.

CM Punk vs "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt
There's one match Punk wishes he could of had with that being a showdown with Bray Wyatt - yes, Punk has shared the ring with Bray in the Nexus & he has had a match against the Wyatt Family, although it didn't have Bray in the match. So how about a showdown with The Fiend in the one construction fit for such a fight - inside Hell In A Cell at WrestleMania!
Rest In Power Forever Bray Wyatt.
CM Punk & AJ Lee vs The Miz & Maryse
Out of all of Punks dream matches, teaming with the best tag team partner in the world - his very own wife, AJ Lee is his ultimate dream match.
The two did team against Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza 2025 but any time he gets to team with AJ, its a dream come true. So Punk wants to take the "IT" couple title away from Miz & Mrs, The Miz & Maryse.
If facing over 20 superstars in individual matches isn't your pace, there is an alternate route to unlock all the rewards from your usual Showcase playthrough which Punk touts as a "choice for the choiceless".
This entails taking on all 20 Superstars listed above in one gigantic gauntlet match - where you'll face each competitor one by one until you either surpass all 20 or fall short and will need to start in the beginning. For veterans or players that are well versed in the WWE 2K series you'll be challenged as it's difficulty is set as "Hard' but for newer players - I would highly suggest to try this one out once you have a sound understanding of the games mechanics and control systems.
I thoroughly enjoyed jumping into the boots and taped hands of The Best In The World throughout the whole showcase, reliving core memories growing up watching CM Punk, finally answering my own bitter questions of "What if Punk never left the WWE" and having the ability to play through dream matches that would require a time machine (thanks slingshot tech!).
A massive thank you to WWE Games & 2K for providing Aussie Heat early access to WWE 2K26, The Show Never Stops in WWE 2K26 with the King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition, and Monday Night War Edition available now worldwide!
