WWE returned to the land down under in Perth, Australia for the highly anticipated & sold out Perth Takeover featuring Raw & Smackdown live for the first time ever in Australia and in the middle of it - Crown Jewel.
The event exceeded already high expectations both in terms of a raucous Aussie crowd and an absolutely stacked card in which provided memorable moments that will be spoken for years to come (looking at you Cena vs Styles), solidifying WWE's dominance in the global sports entertainment landscape.

This wasn't just a weekend of wrestling & entertainment, it was a spectacle that brought the action, drama, and utter star power WWE is known for to Australia.
Thousands of passionate fans in attendance flocked to Western Australia with many of those coming from all across Australia and even Internationally driving a boost to the Western Australian economy from the presence of the leader of sports & entertainment.

At the heart of the WWE's Perth Takeover, were a series of high octane dream matches that showcased WWE's diverse roster of absolute megastars including names of the like of John Cena, Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, Cody Rhodes just to name a small few.
One of the standout matches was the final clash between John Cena and AJ Styles, which had fans on the edge of their seats with its love letter to wrestling fans, paying homage to wrestling greats in their journey providing fans with heart-pounding near-falls.

From Outside The Ring

When WWE comes to town it's not just inside the ring & the arena it's a full blown city takeover!
Alongside the event, WWE brought with them a massive Crown Jewel Superstore - by far the largest I've seen in Australia!

Where thousands of WWE fanatics flocked to Murray St where the store was absolutely cleaned out - where near all WWE Replica Titles were all sold out in just 1 Day of the store opening & countless superstar themed merch size options dwindled quick!
We stepped foot inside of the superstore during the last day of the event in absolute shock that there were only a few racks of shirts left, WWE may need to bring a few extra freights of merch next time!

Nestled within the Crown Jewel Superstore were countless paid meet & greet opportunities for fans to meet their favourite superstars such as Australia's Rhea Ripley, Drew McIntyre, Dominic Mysterio & Tiffany Stratton to name a few!

Just a few steps away from RAC Arena was Netflix's Sports Club which offered the ultimate sports bar experience with incredible photo ops, your chance to unleash your inner superstar with chair shot to a dummy + so much more!
For fans that may not have been able to make their way into RAC Arena - you were able to watch all the shows live a free on a massive screen with drinks & food close near by!

However, it wasn't just the big names that made the event a success. The Crown Jewel Championship bouts grabbed the spotlight, cementing Seth Rollins as the true Visionary of WWE & Stephanie Vaquer making history, being the first WWE Superstar to win 4 separate championship in one single year!

WWE's flagship programming started the takeover with massive twists & utter chaos from Friday Night Smackdown with Damien Priest falling to Aleister Black thanks to some out of this world wizardry.

WWE ended the takeover with Monday with a shocking twist with Seth Rollins very own stable mates - Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker turning on the newly crowned Crown Jewel Champion cementing themselves as the new top dogs within WWE.

We would be remised not to mention the massive homecomings for Australian megastars of the likes of:

Rhea Ripley - who decisively put the Kabuki Warriors away thanks to her newly found tag team partner Iyo Sky at Crown Jewel Perth.

Bronson Reed - The Auszilla who is the 2nd man to pin Roman Reigns in near 2 years - cementing himself as a true threat to the WWE roster.

Grayson Waller - The Aussie Icon kicked off both Raw & Smackdown picking up massive wins during WWE's Main Event - who undoubtedly set the mood and hyped up an already raucous Aussie crowd.

Global Reach and Significance

The success of Crown Jewel Perth was more than just a Western Australian Government triumph, it underscored WWE's ongoing efforts to expand its brand globally.

WWE sent a clear message that it is a company that understands the importance of engaging international audiences & truly is a global brand. WWE's ability to successfully stage an event in a city like Perth far from traditional US hubs was a testament to the global appeal of professional wrestling.

For fans in Australia, WWE has long been a cherished brand, but Crown Jewel Perth it marked a milestone in how WWE can deliver world-class entertainment to markets outside of its usual territories.
The event was streamed live on Netflix & ESPN, attracting viewers from across the globe, and the social media buzz around the event showcased how WWE continues to connect with fans beyond just the arena.

After the massive success of of Elimination Chamber in 2024 injecting $32.5M Into the WA Economy, it seems like WWE's Perth Takeover is likely to eclipses the event prior.
It is uncertain when/or if WWE will make its way across the pond again as their is no currently planned WWE Events planned in Australia for 2026 outside of their TKO deal that will bring a UFC Event next year.

With the touts of the success and keenness that Roger Cook & Tourism Western Australia has to keep a strong partnership with WWE - we think it could be likely we see superstars head back down under next year for another incredible week of sports & entertainment!
